Pastoral and Lay Leaders

Pastoral leadership: At this time the church has no pastoral leadership. The church however has two dedicated supply preachers that work closely with the music staff to plan joyful and uplifting services each Sunday.

Rev. Yolanda Moreno

Rev. Moreno is a graduate of the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley. Before retiring here in Hemet, she served several churches in the Bay area for over 22 years.

Rev. Gregg Hepner

Gregg and his family, wife Gayle, son Danny, and daughters Beth and Rachel came to Hemet in July of 1990 when Gregg began his pastorate at our Pilgrim church, from which he retired in August 2012. Gregg and Gayle are also parents to daughter, Mischa, who lives in Phoenix with her spouse, Susie.

Gayle is Executive Director of REACH commonly known as CASA. Danny lives in Tustin. Rachel and Beth both live in Hemet, and Rachel is mother to two daughters who are five and six.

Lay Leadership: Officers and Council members at large

Barbara Elton, Moderator

Barbara is new to the area, but not new to leadership roles in the church. She brings a lot of energy and experience to the Moderator position, and to the church as a whole. We are so blessed to have her.

Susan Picton, Secretary

Susan jumped into the leadership of the church immediately after being received into membership. She not only has exemplary skills, but she also has a lot of overall knowledge about how things are done in the United Church of Christ. We are so fortunate that the ”Windy City” chose to blow her our way.

Lovina Leon, Treasurer

Lovina has been a faithful church leader for many years, serving on the Council in a variety of positions. She also manages the church’s Scrip program, and over the years has raised a lot of money for the church.

Gustavo Gutierrez, Trustee

Gustavo is not only a degreed accountant, but he is also a spiritual leader in the church, acting as worship liturgist on most Sundays.
